Over 30 years experience in property renovation and maintenance spanning Bath, Chippenham, Melksham, Trowbridge, Frome, Radstock, Midsomer Norton, Keynsham, Bitton, Winsley and everywhere between.

Renovation and Restoration
I specialise in transforming domestic & retail properties including period properties and flats. You'll get a personal service with project advice from start to finish from a small dedicated team who won't leave you waiting or let you down.
We take care of everything from soft strip, repair/replacement of ceiling, window, door, staircase and flooring, renewal of all plumbing and electrics as required and complete the job with plastering, tiling, painting and decorating. Kitchen and Bathrooms
Having fit 100's of kitchens and bathrooms over the years I know exactly what's involved and can help avoid the issues a less experienced installer would run in to. I can advise on and supply kitchens from the likes of Magnet, Howdens, Benchmark, Wicks and Wren or provide a fit only service.
We cover all fitting services including plumbing, gas, electrics, flooring, tiling and decorating as required saving you the hassle of finding tradespeople for each part of the job.
Joinery
I have a 20 year working relationship with Windsor joinery who recommend me as an installer to their customers. I offer joinery service of supply and fit or fit only, some examples include:
- Traditional box framed sliding sash windows. single or double glazed
- Traditional casement and storm-proof windows
- Internal and external doors
- Skirting, architrave and mouldings to match existing or new architectural designs
- Conservatories and roof lanterns
- Purpose made built in furniture
- Match existing mouldings

Darren's Background in carpentry
I started out as a 16 year old carpenter apprentice and have been self employed since 1986. I aimed to fill a gap in the market and ever since have prided myself on achieving this by providing an exceptional level of service.
Over the years I have build a vast amount of knowledge and have an unrivalled reputation in the local community as an honest and reliable tradesperson. I have always focused on the job in hand and never stretch myself with workload, and always try to plan jobs to run smoothly. I have fantastic working relationships with equally skilled and reputable tradespeople from other fields who work with me on larger projects.

The majority of my work comes through word of mouth recommendations from very satisfied customers. I’ve worked with many of my customers for years and am always happy to assist and advise as they take on new projects. As a self employed tradesperson my reputation is everything, and to me, repeat customers are the surest sign I’m doing things the right way.

I boxed in Bath for Percy Boy’s boxing club in my youth up to the age of 29 years. From 2004 I began coaching at the Frome Amateur Boxing Club and in 2011 transitioned to Paddy Johns where I spent 7 years as an amateur and professional boxing coach. During this time I’ve also been a Western Counties senior coach and Regional Coach matchmaker to the Bristol Sporting Club.
It has been a long time ambition of mine to open my own not for profit boxing gym in Bath in the spirt of the club I boxed for in my youth. In 2018 I achieved my dream and opened Roman Boxing Gym in Bath to train boxers all the way through from amateur to professional level.
